- Provenance
For their flagship US location, Mindspace selected the historic Wanamaker Building in downtown Philadelphia for their new coworking workspace. Spread across the full width of the north side of the 4th floor, this 42,000 square foot project takes advantage of abundant daylight through expansive perimeter windows and lofty 15’ ceiling heights. Original historic decorative plaster column capitals and ceiling mouldings were repaired and repainted throughout the space. This design decision restored the classic aesthetic of the building while creating a clean, bright backdrop for rich color and material selections, which is a trademark of the company. New oak wood floors were installed throughout all circulation corridors and offices, with thin black metal glass office fronts defining all member office spaces. 6,000 square feet of amenity space was dedicated to lounge and event functions, with 10’ high custom center pivot glass doors separating the two areas. Amenity spaces were defined by a large scale black and white marble checkerboard tile pattern with vintage inspired light fixtures and custom wood and brass bars flanking either side.
