The eye-catching assortment of fine wine and aged Jamon hanging just inside the storefront windows draws visitors away from the bustle of the city into a welcoming culinary retreat. Terracotta floor tiles extend up the stairs towards the aged oak paneled bar with a carving counter. The exposed ceiling above it, expanded to its original dimensions allowing for a more generous volume in which painted mechanicals and new pendant light fixtures coexist. The geometric oak paneling at the bar front alludes to timeless design elements with the upper shelving creating a curated assemblage for the various wines and liquors. Polished marble countertops complement the distressed wood paneling and metal framed shelves. The main dining room extends along the length of the high-ceilinged space, past a new wine cellar through a steel framed archway set into a masonry tile clad wall. The existing PDR is modified to allow for flexible seating and its ceiling lined with brick set in a steel framework capturing the spirit of masonry vaults found in Spanish architecture.
